Ava Update
Hey guys! It’s Mark here with an update for a change!
We had an appointment this morning at 9:45 and because we are 41 weeks along already, they told us it would be best to just get settled into the labor and delivery center in preparation for the birth of our precious little A. I’m actually writing this right now from the hospital room where we will be giving birth to little Ava within the next 1-2 days. Tomorrow they are planning on inducing, but for now they are watching her contractions to see if they naturally turn into true labor. The contractions are a bit unreliable at the moment…slow…then faster…then gone…then slower…then a little faster…then gone again. Things are progressing though, if not somewhat slower than Melissa and I would prefer! We are both very exited though and we feel good overall. There have been a ton of changes in the past couple of weeks and at this point we’ve pretty much just decided to take whatever comes—so long as we end up with a healthy baby on the other side of this thing. We’ve met about a billion more doctors, nurses, interns, social workers, registrars, and residents (what’s the heck does that even mean!)—but it’s been good overall. It’s truly an incredible hospital here and we feel very well cared for, which really helps with trying to process everything. We’ll be sure and give you further updates as things progress…
-Mark (Ava’s very excited dad)

Ohhhhhh I have goosebumps! Been checking this thing ALL DAY! Come on Baby Ava! We are so very excited to see you! I love you guys and hope and pray for th best experience ever and of course that Ava has been healed by the hand of God!!! Take Care!
Yeah!!! You’re on the home stretch. You’re in our thoughts and prayers tonight. May God’s peace flood your hospital room as you know that He is walking you through this labor and delivery…even though it looks a little different than how you would’ve planned. Ava will meet her parents face to face soon!! Precious.
I have been checking too. i am so excited for all of you. I can hardly wait for you!!! THe next few hours will seem like eternity I am sure, but it will be so worth it to have this precious little one. You are in my thoughts and prayers, COME QUICK AVA!!
baby ava….it’s 4:10 a.m. hopefully mommy is sleeping and daddy in the lounge chair next to her. aunt angela, uncle jodie, marmie and papa are all in the waiting room, sleepy but happy. mommie’s contractions are definitely showing signs of your soon arrival. the monitor shows that the contractions are still strong and close but mommy is able to sleep through them for a time. even so, come quickly, little one. we are so happy that your time has come!
Thanks for the update, Mark! I love you and Missy’s attitudes through all of this. Hang in there – only a little while now!
