Doctor’s Visit

“I will lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”

~ Psalm 4:8

We’re back from the hospital with no inducement. I must admit that I’m a little relieved. I would love for her to come naturally and when she’s ready if possible. But they did say that they will not let me go past next Tuesday without being induced if she doesn’t come before then. (A few weeks ago they had pushed back my due date from February 23rd to March 1st due to some recalculations). So by March 2nd they will begin the labor process if she hasn’t begun it on her own… and whatever is safest for Ava is just fine with us.

Today they did another ultrasound in which they tested Ava Baby’s breathing movements, body movements, muscle tone, and amniotic fluid. They do this test weekly for high risk pregnancies. She passed with “flying colors” they said… which made her Mommy and Daddy very proud! (She must take after her Daddy who always did well on his tests!)

We’ve been reading and singing with Ava everyday… she l.o.v.e.s this time and especially moves all around when we start to sing to her. I think she is already worshipping God in the womb! Our “little birdy” loves to sing.

This last Friday the pastors and an intercessor from Bethany Church prayed for little Ava. James 5:14 says, “Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.” One of the elders asked if he could lay his hand on my belly, and when he did she kicked twice with such force that it almost took my breath away! When she did this, I thought of the scripture in Luke 1 that talks about the babe leaping in Elizabeth’s womb. I have no doubt in my mind that our little girl has been feeling the love and power of the Holy Spirit as all of you have been praying and interceding for her.

Again we thank you for all your love. Each day we are humbled by the outpouring of blessing and care we have received from all of you. I cannot wait to share all of the emails, notes and messages with little Baby Ava as a testimony of God’s love through His people.

I suppose Jamie is hoping she comes tomorrow on his birthday, right? :-) So thankful you had a positive report from the ultrasound and that she is so active. I do pray that when she is born they find there is no need to do a thing and that there are no blockages whatsoever. What a testimony for the Glory of God that would be! Whatever is to be, may it be for His glory, which will automatically result in the greatest good for Ava!
